John Kreger creates portraits that bring joy and pleasure to the dogs’ owners. The creative process begins with your description, including your perceptions of the subject. For example, “His ears are normally up.” or “I don’t want that scar on his nose in the portrait.” This gives John an opportunity to get a sense of the animal’s personality. John then meets the dog and shoots a series of photographs, capturing all the facial planes, positions of the ears and mouth, and other vital details. The final 10” x 15” portrait is completed in graphite on gessoed illustration board, creating an archival work you will enjoy for years to come.
